Folktale says that these little creatures were the companions of vampire elves. They have been depicted as loyal, adorable but very mischievous and extremely dangerous when they are in a bad mood. Once they find a vampire elf who makes them feel secure and protected, they stay by their side forever. Knowing their lifespan is shorter than vampires, they oath to accompany them on their journey even after death.
